The Man Repeller: Trendspotting: Revenge of The Nerds

The Man Repeller: Trendspotting: Revenge of The Nerds

I just discovered Man Repeller. OMG. She is incredibly funny. She looks a little bit like Gilda Radner who I thin was beautiful. Inside and out. I believe the Owner of the post shows her own outfits on the Blog which I love. Very stylish girl.

Check out her Blog please. For a laugh. A good laugh. But also for her style and her honesty and for her --- here comes my favorite word --- AUTHENTICITY. Similar to honesty but not exact. She's not afraid to be the brunt of the laughter. You know, if we all laughed at ourselves more, the world would be a better place. People take themselves waaaayyy too seriously.

Favorite Spring Designers 2011

This could be a boring post but I think that my likes in Spring Fashion are good choices. Here they are:

Always, always, Charles Anastase. Love the prim look with wide Peter Pan Collars and straight pencil skirts. The shoes, similar to Jeffrey Campbell shoes, add the edge necessary to refute the primness. I love the empire babydoll dresses with wide full bottoms. And, of course, SHEERNESS of the other babydoll dresses.
Jeffrey Campbell Gladiator Flats in Red are my new diversion. Are these from another season? I just found them on Need Supply.com

Frozen Tundra in New England

Sitting at my desk facing a double hung window.  Pine trees with sagging snow-covered branches.  Garages and tool sheds covered almost entirely with snow--just the rooftops peeking out.  Like a picture.

I'm listing on Etsy.com.  I have so much inventory that my house has become a store.  I love my vintage.  But I must let some go.  Will probably have a sale sometime very soon!

Not much else to talk about because......I confess....I'm a soccer Mom.  But I'm proud to say that I am not a Tiger Mom.  I know that it may be practical these days to be a Tiger Mom, but it's just not in me and I don't do fake.  No, Ma'am.  Don't do fake.

My true love is vintage clothing.  Vintage jeans, vintage sweaters, now vintage dresses.  The babydoll dresses and longer length are my weakness.  Love, love, love the longer length.  So prim.  So proper.  Longer length babydoll dresses TO THE KNEES are the best.  Midi-length A-Line dresses in camel, black, brown, creme, sheer, cotton, cotton, cotton are lovely.

My favorite designers for S/S 2011 are:

D&G
Proenza Schouler
Chloe Sevigny for OC
Dolce & Gabbanna (spelling)

I have loads of inventory to post on http://www.wayfarervintage.etsy.com/ and I am as busy as a bee.  Please check some of them out.  Nice satin slouchy blouses.  Leopard print dresses.  Navajo Southwestern Blanket skirt and blanket coat which may, in fact, be a Pendleton Navajo Indian blanket coat.  The tag was removed but it sure looks authentic.

To be listed today on etsy.

Keep on Dancing

I love this song.  Garage band from the 60s -- The Gentrys.  Once again, from Shindig,  Look at the sixties fashion and the go-go dancers with their white boots.  Love it.

Music from the Seventies (and late Sixties)

Am I crazy or is the Top of the Chart Music horrible?  With the exception of Rihanna (spelling) of course.  Correct me if I am wrong.

I love, love, love Rihanna's new song "Make me feel like I'm the Only Girl in the World".  Oh my.  Someone should blast that one out and do a Flash Dance at a food court somewhere.  Women only.
Even better, someone should make up a line dance for a wedding.  Make it a tradition.   Love that song.

I don't even follow today's music but Rihanna is so talented.

Other current music I like: Hmmm.....not listening lately due to my Mom responsibilities but I do know I like:

Pink.

And OTR.  The Killers.  That's about it.

I will post more videos from my favorite sixties and seventies music.  Many obscure artists but incredible simple music.  And, of course, some from Joni Mitchell.  Poet extraordinaire.

Listings to come on http://www.wayfarervintage.etsy.com/
